SIZE PRESSES

OVER Sizer P: the traditional size press for the application of starch.
The "pond" type is conceived for the starch application with a consistency of 8%, but it has already shown to reach higher levels; it is particularly indicated for a paper basis weight above the 100 gsm and it runs properly up to a speed of 1100 mpm. It can be equipped with a pneumatic or hydraulic loading system and is completed by a starch nozzle dosing system, a doctor unit, overflow pans and a savall to be connected to the size recirculation system. The diameter of the size press roll varies, according to the application:
- 1000 mm
- 1280 mm
- 1500 mm

OVER Sizer R: size press equipped with rod applicators for starch dosing and for lightweight pigmenting of many paper grades: writing & printing, improved newsprint, fluting and linerboard.
The rod applicators have different designs and can release from 6 to 8 gsm starch per side and normally the sizer is followed by an “air-turn” and IR dryers, in order to delay the contact of the treated web surface to the first drying cylinder.
