ROLLS

WIRE/ FELT/ PAPER ROLLS: manufactured with a steel shell or in centricast steel; the forged steel heads are electro-welded, the journal is integrated in the heads with big "radius connection" and low-roughness surface finish, to avoid stress concentration points. Wire, felt and paper rolls are normally hard-rubber covered, even though special coatings like chrome and teflon are chosen for specific applications. All the rolls are then dynamically balanced.
SUCTION ROLLS: are located in different positions of a paper machine; there are Suction Forming Rolls, Couch Rolls, Pick-Up Rolls, Suction Press Rolls. The shell can be in stainless steel or bronze, with a silent drilling pattern to minimise the noise. The internal suction box in stainless steel has air-loaded seals made of anti-wear graphite-based material and moreover internal showers with recirculation are provided. Both the suction angle and width are adjustable during the production.
VARIABLE CROWN ROLLS: (VC-Rolls) are used in the calenders or in the press sections whenever is required to guarantee a constant pressure profile with different nip loadings. They are also installed as counter-roll in high load configurations (shoe press) or for big widths. The VC-Roll/ E is composed of one or two rows of hydraulically loaded elements, mounted on the internal fixed shaft which press against the internal side of the shell, through a hydrostatic oil film; they are divided in different loading zones, each settable with a different pressure, while the in the VC-Roll/ S i the nip pressure is generated by the hydraulic action of a pressurized oil chamber, located between the fixed internal shaft and the rotating shell, ensuring a uniform profile. 
HL-Roll: long nip press roll, designed for applications on linerboard and cardboard grades. The press consists in two large diameter rolls, up to 1,800 mm, double felted, and loaded up to 500 kN/m: this provides a very long nip, up to 120 mm, and therefore a high press impulse, thus obtaining a high dryness and sheet compaction.
XL-ROLL: shoe press flexible roll, provided with a polyurethane shell conforming around the shoe element. The press has a shoe element which length is 250 mm and is designed for nip loads in the range from 600 to 1,300 KN/m.
