The FNMT-RCM, as a clear exponent of the manufacture of high security documents and advanced technology products, is the Entity in charge of manufacturing the new driving license format, which already works in several European countries. In this way, the traditional pink cardboard is replaced by a plastic card, implemented throughout Spain by the General Directorate of Traffic.

Improved quality and safety

The objective is to provide the citizen with a document of higher quality, more resistant to deterioration and easier to handle. On the other hand, in this format, security is substantially improved, thanks to the incorporation, by the FNMT-RCM, of the most advanced techniques and measures to prevent improper manipulation:

• microline printing
• Visible printing with ultraviolet light.
• Holographic protective foil.
• laser engraving.
• Encrypted images.
