Metallized BOPP film

The Steinerfilm ® P capacitor film is a  biaxially oriented , metallized and/or customized film for use in electrical film capacitors based on polypropylene (= BOPP)  .

Due to their specific formulations and recipes, they form their own class within polypropylene. This is characterized by the highest level of purity and the avoidance of additives such as fillers or plasticizers.

In the film capacitor, the focus is on the thinnest, technically manufacturable films. The film thickness D* begins below the thicknesses possible for packaging film, ie the film thickness is typically thinner than 20 µm (= 0.020 mm). The currently thinnest available P-foil reaches approximately 1/13th of this upper limit, namely 1.6 µm = 0.0016 mm!
