Our company

In 1996, SOMATEC Sondermaschinen GmbH in Hamelin was founded as a design office by Dipl.Ing. Gunther Kuhlmann founded. Due to the brisk demand, the design office quickly became a complete machine production facility. In 2001, SOMATEC moved into its new company building with an assembly hall and administration, so that the first machines could already be assembled there in March 2001. Another assembly hall was completed in 2007, which more than doubled the assembly capacity.Since the company was founded, a large number of machines and systems have been designed, manufactured and commissioned worldwide, with a large number of well-known companies being among our long-standing customers. In Europe SOMATEC is in Italy and worldwide in China, India and various Arab countries and the USA and Canada are represented locally. Right from the start, SOMATEC has stood for a team of specialists with many years of experience who, with their well-founded know-how, develop and implement individual and innovative solutions for every task in winding technology.The focus here is on all types of in-line applications in production or finishing, in which web-shaped products have to be continuously unwound or wound - regardless of whether they are paper, foil, aluminum strip or nonwoven. SOMATEC's comprehensive range of services extends from consulting and planning through design and manufacture to commissioning and training and after-sales service.
