Brand DetailsUnder the MÜNZING brand names of AGITAN®, AGITAN® DF, and AGITAN® P defoamers are available as 100% active content products as well as aqueous emulsions and powders. Chemistries vary from products based on mineral oils or native oils, alkoxylated, specialty-emulsions, and organosiloxane-based solutions to silicone-free defoamers. Grades with and without hydrophobic silica can be selected. These defoamers are formulated to break down air stabilized in the liquid by surfactant materials which can lead to common problems such as surface defects in paints and coatings. Since foam formation can occur in many stages, we are able to recommend AGITAN® products to solve or prevent issues in production, transport, and application. Whilst AGITAN® and AGITAN® DF products are recommended for application fields like adhesives, printing inks, and coatings, AGITAN® P products are for use in powder paints, plasters, cement, gypsum, and mortars. Most grades have a nonionic character and are highly compatible with a wide range of binder systems and additives. All products are highly efficient and have excellent persistence in their designed application area. There are some grades with indirect food contact approval and low odor. Biodegradable products are also an option. The additives are characterized by excellent foam suppression and micro-foam removal, high compatibility, long-term efficiency, and easy handling in perfect balance.
