AboutDrycake

Drycake designs mechanical separation systems since 1995.

Its systems separate organic, plastic, and mixed-waste materials into distinct fractions suited to downstream recycling, energy recovery, and biological treatment — built around the Twister, its vertical dry/wet separation platform.

Drycake is a separation engineering company. Its systems mechanically separate organic, plastic, and mixed-waste materials into distinct fractions suited to downstream recycling, biological treatment, and energy recovery, designed to preserve the material characteristics each downstream process requires, rather than reducing everything to a single undifferentiated output.

The Twister is Drycake's flagship separation platform: a vertical dry depackaging system that uses a controlled vortex combined with mechanical lifting action to separate packaged organic waste or mixed waste into two defined streams: an organic fraction suited to anaerobic digestion or composting, and a packaging fraction that exits relatively dry, with dryness of 75% or higher achieved on wet feedstocks such as pulper rejects, and up to approximately 90% under optimized conditions with integrated low-grade heat.

Organic material → Anaerobic Digestion / Composting

Packaging material → Energy Recovery / SRF / Plastics Recycling

Because separation, not shredding, is the operating principle, the packaging fraction retains the physical structure needed for solid recovered fuel, energy recovery, or plastics recycling applications, depending on composition and local infrastructure.

Drycake's engineering extends beyond the Twister itself, into other separation principles.
