FLEXIBLE DIE TOLERANCES
Most flexible dies are manufactured from a precision grade carbon steel with a thru-hardness of 45-47 Rockwell C, a tensile strength of 240,000 PSI which makes this steel hard and tough. Because we design each die for our customers’ unique applications, we use other steel options based on the specific job requirements.
FLEXIBLE DIE LIFE EXPECTANCY
Die life is generally “Job Specific” and affected by many influences such as:
• Care and handling procedures
• Type of material being cut
• Type of press or diecutter used
• Type of ink used
• Cutting pressures required
• Coatings applied to die
MINIMUM SPACE BLADING
Depends on the depth of the cutting knives which is a direct relationship to the material being converted.
Example: Converting a .010” material (+.004”) which is a .014” machine depth will accomodate .034” between two knives and a min. radius of .017”.
