We are totally focused on the environment , with our 3 strategic lines: compostable biodegradable plastics, recycled plastics, plastics from renewable sources (not fossil).

From a family company to a benchmark in the sector at a European level

SPHERE GROUP SPAIN SL is the result of the merger, in June 1999, of the company SP Metal and Manufacturas Biel, a company of Aragonese origin. The SP METAL group was one of the world's leading suppliers of garbage bags and a leader in the supply of plastic bags for household use.

Manufacturas Biel, a family company established since 1960 in the Zaragoza town of Utebo, was specialized in the manufacture, in extrusion and high density, of garbage bags, T-shirt bags and the Self-service range.

Since 2002 SP METAL assumes 100% of the shareholding of the company, being the resulting company, first SP METAL Biel and after a strategic shift in 2005, Grupo Sphere.

The Sphere Group took a strategic turn in 2005 with the purchase of 50% of Biotic, a German company that develops and produces a new generation of materials from plant-based products.

They are renewable, biodegradable, compostable, recyclable and 100% reusable plastic materials . In 2012, 100% of Biotec is acquired.

In April 2017, the Sphere Group acquires the AEF group, the main French distributor of packaging products for professionals.

In 2019, the Sphere Group reinforces its activity in the field of Bioplastics, purchasing the Italian company FLEXOPACK, specialized in the manufacture and distribution of products dedicated to Large Distribution.
