PAPELERA NACIONAL SA was legally established on February 28, 1961 and its founding partners were the North American companies WR Grace INC., International Paper CO., SociedadAgrícola e Industrial San Carlos SA and the Noboa Organization. The start of operations began in 1968, with a production of kraft paper of 10,000 metric tons per year and the assembly of a sugarcane bagasse pulp plant, to take advantage of the general fibrous raw materials of sugar from the San Carlos Ingenio. and use them in the manufacture of paper. Through the years, expansions were made in the installed capacity of the factory; New equipment was acquired, as well as technology that was incorporated into fiber preparation and control processes. Our current production is approximately 180,000 MT of Kraft paper per year.
