In 1990, montara was founded in Berlin by Christoph Dimer.
As early as 1991, production began in Siebenlehn / Saxony, initially only in the form of foam processing for customers from the devices industry such as Siemens, DeTeWe and Francotyp Postalia.
The company became a systems provider by starting to process corrugated cardboard at the plant in Siebenlehn in 1995. Since 1997, the headquarters of the company have been located in Siebenlehn.
With the AUDI TT and its many sophisticated interior components, we successfully implemented large-scale entry into the loading carriers segment for the automobile industry in 1998. In 2000, the CATIA V4 Station began operations.
In 2005 and 2006, a complete reconstruction of the production halls and the installation of predominantly digital production facilities were carried out.
In 2008, montara India Pvt Ltd. was founded in Bangalore, India.
In 2009 - 2010, approx. €1 million was invested in new production machinery.
In 2010, the montara North America Corporation was founded in Chattanooga, USA.
In 2011, the company invested in a 750m² warehouse for raw materials and in improved material flow efficiency and lean production.
