An expanding family enterprise

Hypap operates from its own 4,500 m2 production facility, which includes a fully computer-controlled manufacturing execution system. Our offices are located in Valkeakoski, 150 kilometres north of Helsinki and 34 kilometres south of Tampere. We are about 40 kilometres from Tampere-Pirkkala Airport.

From a hobby to a global business

Hypap’s story began in 1981 in the basement of a small country home with the very small-scale production of disposable bibs. By 1988, the company was growing rapidly. Pekka Pollari joined his father in the family firm in 1996, and from then on the company started to focus on foreign markets. At the turn of the millennium, the company was passed in its entirety to Pekka Pollari, who took over his father’s role as Managing Director. A new and determined focus on exports quickly tripled the company’s revenue.

Nowadays, Hypap employs approximately 50 people and is deeply committed to employee well-being. In 2009, the company took part in the No Redundancy campaign. In 2010, Hypap was awarded the Employer of the Year award by the Junior Chamber International of Tammerkoski. In the same year, Hypap was also named Pirkanmaa Entrepreneur of the Year.
