MEMBERS

Furtado Forest Products is proud to be members of the following associations:

The WRCLA is founded in 1954. The association is a Vancouver (Canada) based non-profit association representing 27 quality producers of Western Red Cedar lumber products in British Columbia, Washington, Oregon and Idaho. WRCLA activities also include programs on product quality and standards as well as research and new product development. The association sits on a number of code and standard committees and works closely with FP Innovations.

The members at NAWLA are dedicated to growing and nurturing every aspect of the lumber industry, from the careful stewardship of forest resources to the harvesting and distribution of lumber products, to championing wood’s role in a greener economy and a healthier planet. Since their founding in 1893, NAWLA has been at the very heart of the industry– longer than any other lumber organization in America. They represent the best interests of wholesalers, manufacturers, and service provider companies from the planting of seedlings to the selling of building materials and wood in all of its many forms.

The IWPA is a self-funded, province-wide organization with members and directors from all areas of British Columbia. Members are open market sawmills, remanufacturers, custom cutters, custom processors, and wholesalers engaged in the production and sale of both commodity lumber and specialty products such as timbers, siding, paneling, and molding of all native BC species. The association, had over 120 member companies employing over 4000 British Columbians in the production and sales of 4 billion board feet with a value of $2.5 billion back in 2004. Collectively, the economic significance of our sector has now been recognized and the Independent Wood Processors Association has become a valuable source of input to governments seeking to formulate effective legislation and policy.
