UPPC’s CFB Boiler converts organic wastes into useful steam energy through safe and environment-friendly combustion of biomass such as sludge, rice husks and waste paper rejects. It generates high pressure steam used in the paper manufacturing process and generates electricity in the steam-driven power generator for the consumption of the entire plant.

On June 28, 2006, UPPC was awarded with a “Certificate of Appreciation” by the DENR – Environment Management Bureau (DENR-EMB) Region 3 for its invaluable support and contribution to environmental activities
