AIR VALVES

AIR VALVES

Air valves are self-acting hydromechanical devices designed to exhaust or admin air into a pipeline to optimise system performance. Appropriately sized air valves provide protection from the effects from transient pressures, column separation, water hammer and air accumulation in pipelines, which can result in pipeline damage or even failure. Air entrapment results in reduced pipeline efficiency and premature failure. T-T offer an innovative range of self-acting air valves that maintain air release and intake for maximum efficiency.

Aquabrake® is a range of air valves for clean and potable water applications to EN1074-4 and have WRAS approval. The compact single small orifice model offers release of small air pockets from high points. While the full-bore double orifice combination air valve has three functions; release of large volumes of air during the charging phase, bulk intake of air during the draining phase to prevent vacuums and the efficient release of small accumulation of pockets from within the valve chamber.

Air valves are self-acting hydromechanical devices designed to exhaust or admin air into a pipeline to optimise system performance. Gases are generated from turbulence inducing components and process media decay which tends to acuminate at system peaks. Air entrapment can result in reduced flow capacity, increased power consumption and corrosion. Our range of air valves includes an extensive range of singe function (small) orifice, two function (single large) orifice and three function (double) orifice or combination air valves for use in industrial, potable, clean and waste water applications.

T-T offer complimenting range of air valves for wastewater applications boasting directly acting stainless steel floats, with no internal levers or mechanisms that are prone to failure.

Handy hint: Correct valve selection and positioning can reduce energy consumption.
