In the past, landing gears were hard chromium plated. Now, they can be coated with Oerlikon’s High Velocity Oxy-Fuel (HVOF) thermal spray
technology.
Why? Because the HVOF coatings exceed the hard chrome performance, meeting the stringent requirements of new aircraft generation and replacing the noxious hard chromium process.
