RUSSIAN BIRCH

RUSSIAN BIRCH

Russian Birch, also referred to as Baltic Birch, is generally regarded as being of a higher quality than standard birch plywood. Russian Birch is also known for its combination of strength and visual appeal.

Due to its unique construction, core layers of birch veneers form a void-free core. This construction contributes to a plywood product that holds screws exceptionally well, creates cleaner joinery, offers improved strength and stability and provides an attractive appearance when shaped and finished.

We offer Russian Birch in both appearance and industrial grades, with a full range of options for each.

The grading is established by the Russian intergovernmental standard GOST 3916.1-96. Grading is given as the two outer faces of the plywood, in the format of front/back. For instance, Russian birch with a “B/BB” grade would have a B grade front ply, and a BB grade back ply.
