White as Marble

Nordkalk´s fine-ground calsium carbonate is a high-quality product used for making GCC (Ground Calcium Carbonate). GCC is used in the paper and cardboard industries to make fine paper, cardboard packaging and pulp-based paper.

Nordkalk produces calcite for GCC in Lappeenranta, Finland, where the local marble is extremely white and has a stable quality. The limestone is first ground into a wet slurry and the concentrated calcite is separated from the slurry by flotation.

Also Nordkalk´s Tytyri plant in Lohja, Finland produces stone for making GCC.
