Miami Machine Inc. reels are installed on paper machines producing a variety of grades. MMI has designed reel spools to run at 10,000 FPM.

REEL SPOOL INSPECTION/SERVICE

Miami Machine Incorporated also provides reel spool inspection and service. These are often the most abused journals on the entire paper machine. Reel spools experience rotational speeds that may be twice the machine's operating speed, as well as brake torque reaction stresses. They are subject to impact loads from being let down "less than gently" on stands and rails. Many prudent mills have initiated annual preventive maintenance service contracts to keep their reel spools in excellent operating condition.
