The production engineers of a large pulp and paper mill in the state of Washington stated -“that after removing a earlier style direct steam heater for starch cooking the Komax in-line starch cooker eliminated the noise and vibration which plagued the previous unit. This simple invention with no moving parts or adjustments to make is a major breakthrough in starch cookers.”

Komax direct steam heaters with six in-line mixing chambers contain no moving parts. Static mixing elements inside each chamber provide uniform mixing of the steam with the starch stream resulting in completely uniform cooking.
