HOW PRODUCTION WORKS
Cellulose is extracted from various plants, such as the eucalyptus and pine trees planted by Klabin and is an important raw material used in several segments, such as the paper, disposable diapers, fabrics and biofuel industries.
At Klabin, pulp production takes place at the Puma Unit, in Ortigueira (PR). Inaugurated in June 2016, it is one of the most modern pulp mills in the world and has two production lines: one for long fibers (which come from pine) and the other for short fibers (from eucalyptus), with production capacity of 1.5 million tons of pulp per year.
