Solutions for breweries industry
The brewing process generally generates unique, high-strength waste water as a by-product. The wastewater typically has a high concentration of Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD) form the carbohydrates and protein used in brewing beer. Brewery waste water usually has a temperature of > 25 °C.
The high level of soluble COD and the temperature makes brewery wastewater an ideal substrate for anaerobic treatment sometimes followed by aerobic treatment, depending on the local discharge requirements.
Financial or regulatory pressures can encourage brewery management to seek capital investment in the waste water treatment area to reduce annual operating costs.
