Our Crush Story column tells the life cycle of alternative raw materials that are used in our factory to produce Crush ecological paper, with a view to circular economy.

In these days at Luxepack Monaco, the luxury packaging fair , we presented the latest addition to the Crush range : Crush Cacao which has now become available in stock together with the variants Citrus, Grapes, Cherries, Lavender, Corn, Olive, Coffee, Kiwi , Hazelnut and Almond.

Each Italian consumes an average of 4 kilograms of chocolate bars per year and is a 3 billion dollar market. In other European countries, twice as much is consumed, with Estonia in first place. [1]

The cocoa plant has very ancient origins and the first farmers were the Maya around 1000 BC but only from 1500 AD did it spread to European civilization.

Criollo, Forastero and Trinitario are the most common cocoa varieties from which chocolate is obtained, one of the most popular foods for adults and children. But who would have thought that it can also be used to produce paper?
