Nefab Launches EdgePak Collar

As industries face growing pressure to reduce emissions and waste, Nefab has launched the latest version of its award-winning EdgePak® Collar, a fiber-based alternative to wooden pallet collars designed specifically for one-way shipments. The new iteration offers expanded sizes, enhanced strength, and improved stability, providing a cost-effective and practical solution for industries where return logistics are not feasible.

Reducing Emissions and Waste in One-Way Logistics
Nefab’s Life Cycle Analysis highlights the environmental benefits of replacing wooden pallet collars with the EdgePak® Collar in one-way flows:

  • 34% lower CO2-eq emissions thanks to lightweight, low-carbon materials
  • 49% less landfill waste, as the collar is fully recyclable in the world’s largest recycling stream—paper
  • 40% lighter than wooden solutions, reducing air freight by up to 16%
  • Seamless integration with existing processes, featuring quick assembly, flexible height, and standard sizes

Recyclable Fiber-Based Design for Lightweight, Practical Packaging
Building on the success of its half-pallet solutions, Nefab is expanding the EdgePak® Collar line to include full-pallet-sized options. These larger formats maintain the strength and stability required for demanding supply chains, enabled by advanced engineering and extensive testing in both laboratory and real-world conditions. Key features include:

  • Expanded Pallet Sizes: Available in EUR (1200x800mm), US (48″x40″), and ½ EUR (800x600mm) to suit diverse logistics requirements
  • Customizable Strength: Standardized lids and bottoms optimize load capacities from light to heavy-duty shipments
  • Enhanced Stability: Reinforced corrugated collar design provides improved stiffness, ensuring better product protection during handling and stacking

Award-Winning Sustainability and Innovation
The EdgePak® Collar was recently honored with the 2025 WorldStar Award for its lightweight, recyclable design, reinforcing its position as a sustainable alternative—or complement—to traditional shipping solutions. Organized by the World Packaging Organization, the WorldStar Awards recognize excellence and innovation in packaging worldwide.
