Duni Group Launches Innovative Sealable Paper Bowl

Duni Group has introduced Sealable Ronda, a new sealable paper bowl developed under its Duniform brand for salads and ready-to-eat bowl meals. Combining paper-based packaging with hermetic sealing and modified atmosphere packaging (MAP) technology, the solution is designed to extend product freshness, reduce food waste, and ensure secure handling throughout the supply chain while significantly lowering plastic usage.

As demand for ready-made salads and bowl meals continues to rise, food waste remains a major sustainability challenge within the convenience food sector. At the same time, food producers and retailers are increasingly seeking packaging solutions that can enhance shelf life, deliver reliable performance across logistics and retail environments, and reduce reliance on plastic materials. Sealable Ronda addresses these requirements by enabling hermetic sealing and MAP functionality within a paper-based packaging format, helping products remain fresh for longer and reducing the likelihood of food disposal.

Compared with plastic-based Duni bowls of a similar size, Sealable Ronda contains more than 85 percent less plastic and delivers over 50 percent lower CO₂ emissions. The secure sealing technology also provides leak-resistant, tamper-evident, and hygienic packaging that protects food products throughout transportation and retail handling. The visible seal allows consumers to easily verify that the package remains unopened, supporting greater product safety and consumer confidence.

The solution also responds to growing market demand for paper packaging capable of delivering the same sealing functionality traditionally associated with plastic-based alternatives. By combining a high share of renewable materials with advanced packaging performance, Sealable Ronda supports the transition toward more sustainable food packaging solutions.

The round bowl format is specifically designed for modern food concepts including salads, sushi, poke bowls, and other ready-to-eat meals, while offering an appealing retail presentation. The packaging is suitable for both hot and cold dishes and is designed for easy stacking and handling in retail environments. Sealable Ronda is manufactured using FSC®-certified and other controlled materials and can be customized with printed branding and product information directly on the packaging.
