Introduction:

Kruger Inc. has announced a £32.4 million investment in its Kamloops Pulp Mill to introduce innovative technology aimed at diversifying its product range and entering rapidly growing markets.

Features:

The new pulp washing system at Kruger Kamloops will improve the mill's efficiency and significantly reduce inorganic materials and talc in the final product. This process will also lead to a substantial decrease in the use of bleaching chemicals.

The technology will be paired with advanced controls and AI capabilities to ensure that the pulp consistently meets the highest standards for specialty products that require ultra-clean pulp.

This initiative will not only enhance Kruger Kamloops' competitiveness and environmental performance but will also help secure 340 jobs at the mill, along with 1,000 indirect jobs across British Columbia.

Set to be completed in 2026, the project will allow Kruger Kamloops to increase its production of ultra-clean pulp from 43,000 tonnes in the first year to over 115,000 tonnes annually by the third year and beyond.
