New generation planer line to Sweden

12 September 2023

In response to a substantial investment initiative at the Edane site in Sweden by our esteemed customer, Moelven Edanesågen AB, a subsidiary of the Norwegian-Swedish Moelven Group specializing in wood elements and systems for the construction sector, we are proud to announce our partnership in the manufacture and delivery of a cutting-edge planer line designed for exterior elements. This project also includes the construction of a brand-new production line dedicated to planing and sorting operations.

Our selection as a strategic partner for this endeavor is attributed to our comprehensive capabilities in delivering all essential equipment directly from our own production facilities, as well as overseeing the entire design, implementation, and optimization process. The forthcoming line will replace two older ones at the Edane site, inheriting the production program of the adjacent facility. The products manufactured on this line will cater to both the Norwegian and Swedish markets.

Having pioneered the production of the fastest planing machines for a quarter of a century, we proudly introduce the new generation of machines known as "Stratoplan." These machines enable four-sided planing and profiling of boards with widths of up to 300 mm. The recently unveiled fourth-generation Stratoplan, launched this year, offers enhanced profiling capacity to accommodate larger cross-sections of external profile elements.

The incorporation of advanced automation and seamless integration, complemented by a higher capacity machine, will substantially elevate the productivity of the upcoming line. The focal point of this system is the Stratoplan, boasting an impressive machining speed of up to 400 m/min. With its 10 spindles and integrated tool measuring and positioning system, the line achieves efficient setup changes and remarkable flexibility. To further enhance efficiency in processing smaller cross-sections, the inclusion of the Splitcut machine, designed for horizontal cutting of workpieces into thinner boards, significantly augments the line's capacity.

Designed to handle high processing volumes of up to two boards per second, the entire line is optimized for seamless automation, encompassing evaluation and sorting processes. Additional value is generated by end profiling of the boards. The automatic bundling and protective packaging of stacked packages ensure a streamlined workflow.

This innovative line represents a significant leap forward in terms of flexibility and capacity, empowering our customer to produce substantial product volumes at reduced costs. Once operational, this planned line will rank as the most formidable production line of its kind in the industry.
