12 September 2015

Munksjö expects the annual cost savings of the restructuring actions and personnel reduction in Italy to amount to EUR 2.0-2.5 million.

Specialty paper manufacturer Munksjö plans to restructure its activities at the Mathi production facility close to Turin, Italy. According to the company, the plan involves a reduction of approximately 45 positions at the site.

At the Mathi production facility, which the company has been sharing with Ahlstrom since 2013, Munksjö employs some 275 people and produces release papers for pressure sensitive adhesive labelstock, tapes and industrial applications on one paper machine.

The restructuring actions at the Mathi site are part of a bigger plan to restructure cost and improve operational efficiency in the Release Liners business division, the company explained. Related to the restructuring in Italy and other cost structure adjustment and reorganisation efforts across the Release Liners business area, the company will book a non-recurring cost of approximately €5m in the third quarter of 2015.
