Mondi Group plans to permanent close of Lohja specialty kraft paper mill

15 April 2015

Mondi Group has announced plans for the permanent closure of the Lohja specialty kraft paper mill in Finland.

According to Mondi, employee representatives were informed of the plans on 9 April. Mondi cites the site's prolonged poor financial performance as the reason for the planned shut-down. The closure will affect a total of 170 people.

At the Lohja mill near Helsinki Mondi produces coated and uncoated machine-glazed specialty kraft papers for the release liner markets and for the medical, food service and food packaging industry.
