Metsa Wood to cut approximately 60 jobs at its Kerto® and plywood mills

7 November 2015

Metsa Wood will start statutory labour negotiations to implement a new target organisation model at all of its Kerto® and plywood mills, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The implementation of the target organisation is estimated to result in a need to reduce labour by a total of approximately 60 persons. The statutory labour negotiations are expected to be completed in January 2016, and any employee reductions will primarily be implemented during the 1Q 2016.

The negotiations are part of the performance improvement programme announced last year. The programme aims for further improvements in production excellence as part of the industrial efficiency strategy and increased labour flexibility at production units in Finland.

Metsa Wood manufactures products from northern wood, a sustainable raw material of premium quality. Metsä Wood is part of Metsä Group.
