Georgia-based Pratt Industries Plans New Manufacturing Facility in Peach County

12 September 2023

Governor Brian P. Kemp has announced an exciting development from Georgia-based Pratt Industries, Inc., a leader in recycled paper and packaging. The company is set to construct a new production facility in Peach County's Warner Robins area, fostering the creation of over 125 jobs and an investment exceeding $120 million.

Governor Kemp expressed his pride in companies like Pratt Industries and acknowledged their commitment to growth in Georgia, the number one state for business. He highlighted the significance of expansions like this, which accounted for more than 70% of the previous year's economic development projects. Such developments showcase Georgia's business-friendly environment and its collaborative approach to bringing opportunities to its workforce.

Pratt Industries, headquartered in Atlanta, ranks as the fifth-largest corrugated packaging company in the United States. Additionally, it holds the distinction of being the largest privately owned producer of 100% recycled containerboard globally.

Anthony Pratt, Global Executive Chairman for Pratt Industries, expressed the company's honor in establishing a presence in Warner Robins, emphasizing their commitment to the state of Georgia, where the company's journey began. This expansion will raise Pratt's total workforce in Georgia to over 2,100 employees and a nationwide total of 11,700.

The new facility represents the company's 13th site in the state, and with it, Pratt Industries will have invested over $800 million in Georgia. The facility will be situated at Robins Industrial Park, a Georgia Ready for Accelerated Development (GRAD) certified site in Peach County. Spanning 496,000 square feet, it will stand as one of the company's most modern factories out of its 72 across 25 states. This facility will specialize in producing corrugated boxes using 100% recycled containerboard, with a significant portion sourced from the company's Conyers, Georgia mill. Operations are anticipated to commence in late 2024.

Warner Robins Mayor LaRhonda W. Patrick expressed her enthusiasm for welcoming Pratt Industries, acknowledging the significance of their investment as the largest single private investment in the city's history. The project promises to provide over 100 new career opportunities for the growing population.

Martin Moseley, Chairman of the Peach County Board of Commissioners, welcomed Pratt Industries as a job creator and investor in Peach County. He emphasized the region's suitability for development, thanks to its skilled workforce and reliable infrastructure. Moseley anticipated that Pratt's presence in Middle Georgia would benefit other industries relying on their products, marking it as a significant asset to the area.

This project is the result of a collaborative effort involving various parties, including the Georgia Department of Economic Development's (GDEcD) Global Commerce team, the Development Authority of Peach County, and Georgia Power. Senior Project Manager John Soper represented GDEcD on this competitive project, highlighting the state's commitment to supporting existing industries and communities for their long-term growth. He commended Pratt Industries for its ongoing partnership with Georgia and expressed gratitude to local partners in Warner Robins and Peach County for their dedication to expanding the existing industry base.
