Double A will start producing steam and electricity from biomass at the Alizay mill. This is a new operational field for the site where paper production is currently not running at full capacity.

Thai paper manufacturer Double A has decided to invest in its French Alizay copy paper mill in order to improve the site's profitability. A CGT union representative told EUWID that the company was planning to invest €20m in a biomass boiler to produce steam and electricity at the existing power plant.

The plant is will reportedly have a capacity of 50 MW. Production is expected to start in early 2020.

The union spokesperson explained that Double A was looking for a way to make the Alizay mill more profitable. Paper production has reportedly not been running at full capacity for some time now.
