1. Waste water clarifiers cater to a multitude of industries. Due to its essentiality, do you have to invest extensively into its research and development to ensure that the manufactured end product meets the industry standards?
Wastewater clarifiers are essentially of three types: Sedimentation, Flotation and Filtration. Conventional sedimentation clarifiers have been in use in industries for centuries whereas flotation clarifiers came into use around 1920 in Scandinavia. While the design of sedimentation clarifier has remained more or less static, there have been considerable improvements in the design of Flotation Clarifiers in the last 100 years or so. The objective of research and development in Flotation clarifier has been to reduce the residence time in the clarifier from the original 20 minutes to the state-of-the-art residence time of 3 minuts today.
2. How advantageous is the Dissolved Air Flotation System in terms of cost-effectiveness and time-efficiency?
In terms of compactness there is no system comparable to circular DAF clarifier of modern design. In terms of capital costs, the cost of a DAF clarifier is comparable to a conventional sedimentation clarifier of RCC construction. But if you factor in the cost of space occupied by a conventional sedimentation clarifier, the cost effectiveness of a DAF clarifier will become absolutely evident.
3. Your products are available in a variety of models, does each model deliver specifically to a certain type of industry?
Our models are essentially to cater to the different flow rates and it is not industry specific. Up to a certain level of TSS value one has to look at only the flow rate of the wastewater to determine the clarifier size. However if the TSS value is much higher than the threshold value, the DAF clarifier size will have to be determined by calculating the surface loading rate of solids.
4. Do you customize the DAF clarifiers as per the customer’s requirements? Your website mentions fabricating a tank entirely out of stainless steel on demand. Does this translate to an escalation in over-all cost and time consumption?
We do offer our DAF clarifiers in PU-coated carbon steel construction for economy but our overseas supplies are invariably in SS 304, 316 or in some cases 316L depending on the wastewater chemistry and the client’s desire for protection against corrosion. SS will be obviously more expensive than carbon steel construction.
5. Does your work entitle you to certain social and environmental responsibilities as you deal with water which is an important element of nature?
We believe we provide to our customers a cost effective primary treatment system for their wastewater treatment.
