Pregis Launches EasyPack® Strata High-Speed On-Demand Paper Packaging System

Pregis®, a global supplier of protective packaging, mailing and bagging, and flexible packaging solutions, has launched Pregis EasyPack® Strata, a high-speed, on-demand paper system that produces structured paper pads for void fill, light cushioning and full cushioning applications. The new system strengthens the company’s on-demand paper portfolio and is designed to meet the speed, flexibility and throughput needs of today’s fulfilment operations.

EasyPack Strata creates structured paper pads that make better use of space inside the box, enabling more uniform packing and reducing excess material. In enhanced void fill applications, the pads hold their shape more consistently than conventional void fill, improving material efficiency. The system is also built for high-volume environments, with dispensing speeds of up to 60 inches per second.

“Fulfilment operations need packaging systems that can keep pace with throughput demands without adding complexity,” said Joey Phister, President of Protective Products at Pregis. “EasyPack Strata allows operators to adjust protection levels in real time, helping to improve throughput, reduce waste and create a faster, more intuitive packing process.”

The system can be integrated into individual packing stations or centralised packaging lines, supporting a wide range of facility layouts and operating models. Its operator-focused design includes intuitive controls, ergonomic loading, and both automatic and manual operating modes, helping to reduce training time and improve daily workflow efficiency.

A movable magnetic human-machine interface lets operators place controls on the front or sides of the unit to suit different workstation layouts. Operators can also select single- or dual-ply paper and adjust basis weight to match protection levels to specific product needs. This helps control costs by avoiding over-padding while reducing damage through consistent cushioning.

EasyPack Strata uses Pregis EasyPack® paper made from 100 per cent recycled content, with Forest Stewardship Council® (FSC) certified options available. This supports curbside recyclability and helps meet packaging-related ESG requirements set by many major shippers and retailers.

Combining speed, flexibility and an operator-centric design, EasyPack Strata is intended to help packaging decision-makers improve efficiency, protect products, reduce damage and deliver a more consistent customer experience across fulfilment operations.
