The new site in Dourges will combine production activities of Ontex's French plants Wasquehal and Arras into one "state-of-the-art facility." Transfer of production equipment to be completed next year.

Ontex Group, a manufacturer of disposable personal hygiene products, has opened its new production site for incontinence products in Dourges in northern France. Once it is fully operational, the Dourges facility is planned to operate nine production lines and offer the complete range of incontinence products.

The new facility will reportedly combine production activities of the company's two manufacturing facilities in Wasquehal and Arras and offer continuous employment to the entire 330 staff of the two sites in one location. According to Ontex, production equipment from the Arras facility has already been transferred to Dourges, while the relocation of the Wasquehal equipment is still ongoing and will continue in 2017.

Ontex said it invested €45m into the new incontinence products facility which offers better working conditions to the company's employees as well as environmental and logistic advantages. According to previous information from the company, the group's production capacity stands at 700 million units per year and will not change with the transfer of activities to the Dourges plant.
