Bekaert Solaronics supplied Reno de Medici La Rochette (ex-Cascades s.a.s.) with two infrared systems GemDryer® and one UniDryer® V3 after each coating stations on its BM2 folding boxboard machine.
The partnership between Bekaert Solaronics and Cascades La Rochette started in 1992 with the installation of a gas infrared drying system on their machine 3 after the size press.
Today, La Rochette mill renewed its confidence in Bekaert Solaronics to optimize the drying after each coating stations on their BM2. The main objectives are to reduce drastically the energy consumption and increase the machine runnability. This project is the third order placed by La Rochette mill to Bekaert Solaronics over the last four years for the improvement of board’s drying.
Bekaert Solaronics supplied Kingdecor (Zhejiang) with two hoods of 6-rows infrared UniDryer® for drying of laminating papers on its Paper Machine 1.
Thanks to its high energy efficiency and flexibility, the UniDryer® will achieve a uniform total drying after the size press while maintaining the high-quality levels of the specialty paper.
Bekaert Solaronics will supply Greenpaper with one infrared drying system GemDryer® after a rebuilt UMV twin HSM coater on its PM3.
The paper machine PM3 manufactures 100% recycled clay-coated boxboard for folding box conversion. The Bekaert Solaronics GemDryer® addresses the paper machine’s flexibility needs and can be easily adapted to the different top coating dry weights.
Bekaert Solaronics will supply Cartiera di Momo with fourinfrared systems UniDryer® V3 followed by sets of air bars after each of the four coating stationsonits PM1 recycled board machine.The Energy Recovery Concept is again applied to this project with the air bars directly fed by the exhaust hot air from the UniDryer® V3 systems. This concept allows even more energy savings! The installation of the systems is scheduled to take place during the 3rd quarter 2016.
Bekaert Solaronics is partnering with Bellmer for the installation of a UniDryer®V3 systemin PM14 at Technocell Günzach’s paper mill in Germany. The extensive revamp of the paper machine is scheduled to take place in the 4th quarter 2015.
This installation is part of the Technocell Günzach’s project to expand the production of pre-impregnated papers, a key growth segment. After the rebuild, the paper machine PM14 will produce both pre-impregnated PRIP® as well as nonwoven papers coated on both sides for wallpapers.
Bekaert Solaronics has installed two gas infrared drying UniDryer® V3 systems on PM8 after coaters 1&2 at the Condat paper mill of Lecta Group in France.
The investment is to significantly reduce the energy consumption and hence lower the operational costs. The UniDryer® V3 systems replace the existing electrical infrared dryers and are coupled to the hot air dryers by the ERS concept which uses the exhaust from the UniDryer® V3 as energy source for the hot air dryers.
Bekaert Solaronics received an order from Matsubo Corporation to install two infrared WebMate®hoods in a paper mill that manufactures coated specialties in Japan.
The objective of these two systems, installed after two new coating stations,is to correct thecross direction moisture profile before coating station and before reel for an optimal paper quality at the lower operating costs.
Bekaert Solaronics installed a GemDryer® system with Gem12E emitters at Metsä Board Tako in Finland. The delivery includes also an Energy Recovery System (ERS) to be linked to the air dryer.

The objective of the investmentis to replace the existing infrared equipment by a new Webmate® hood for coat drying and profiling after the third coating head. The existing WebMate® will be moved after the first coating head where there is no infrared system today.

BekaertSolaronics received an important order from Andritz group for the rebuilt of the drying equipment at KartonsanKartonSanayiveTicaret A.S. in Izmit, Turkey.The objective of the investmentis to increase duplex and triplex board production from 100,000 to 160 000 tons per year.
The objective of the investment is to replace the existing infrared equipment by a new GemDryer® for coat drying behinda film press. This systemwill increase significantly the infrared power of the existing equipment thanks to the use of the Gem12+ emitters which ensure perfect quality and provide high drying power as well as a long lifetime.
