Vietracimex to build pulp mill in Vietnam

Another player has emerged in the pulp sector. Vietnamese company Vietracimex plans to build a new facility and add 400.000 t of market pulp capacity to the market.

Vietnamese company Vietnam Trading Engineering Construction Joint Stock Corporation (Vietracimex) has announced plans to build a pulp mill in Quang Ngai in Quang Ngai province. This step will mark the entry of the company, which has been active in various sectors such as the mining industry and road construction, into the pulp market.

The new company will trade under the name of VNT 19 Pulp Paper JSC and produce around 400,000 tpy of market pulp, according to Vietracimex. The bleached hardwood pulp is to be made from acacia hybrid plantation wood. Market experts expect that production at the new mill will start in late 2016 or early 2017.
