Suzano Pulp and Paper invests in the modernization of the Savcor Anodic Protection System in the digester 1 of its Mucuri Unit, Bahia, Brazil. The implementation is planned to take place already in November 2015, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

The Anodic Protection System was installed in 1994, and since then has been decisively acting in the corrosion prevention and integrity of the digester.

The modernization scope includes the replacement of internal protection elements in the digester (cathodes and sensors), new power units and a modern control unit.

“With the investment, the protection of the digester will be based in modern technology, allowing Suzano to continue ensuring the maximum availability and life-time of the digester, supporting production demands,” comments José Alexandre de Morais, Industrial Director of Suzano Pulp and Paper.

Suzano Pulp and Paper is the world´s second largest eucalyptus pulp producer and among the 10 biggest market pulp producers in the world.
