OCC export prices in the UK soar again in November

22 November 2017

After cutting back on purchases in August and September, Chinese paper mills were buying heavily again in November, at least OCC, bringing prices up again. High volatility seems to be the only constant in the British OCC market this year.

After peaking in mid-November, the OCC export market prices cooled off a little again. "The fact that Chinese companies only cut prices moderately shows that they still need and want to buy material," one expert remarked. Consequently, no dramatic changes in prices are thought to be on the cards for the next few weeks.
