Norbord commissions new OSB line at its Inverness mill in the UK

16 February 2018

Norbord installed and started up new equipment at its Inverness mill in the UK. The equipment includes the forming line, the screening, blending and resin system, the heat energy system, dryer and WESP stack, as the company says in the press release received by Lesprom Network.

Holtec has been responsible for the wood room starting from the infeed system up to the strand conveyors into the wet bin. Coordinating the delivery, installation and start-up of the whole equipment were quite a logistical undertaking at site.

Norbord made the first board during September 2017. With the new continuous press in operation the capacity of OSB production in Inverness increases significant. With a worldwide output of 7.2 m m³ Norbord has become number 1 in the OSB industry.
