May+Spies and German private consortium buy Papierfabrik Reflex

3 February 2015

Buyers have finally been found for Papierfabrik Reflex, which has been under insolvency proceedings since October 2013. A group of investors, consisting of May+Spies and an unnamed private family consortium have taken over the paper mill.

May+Spies is a German manufacturer of envelopes, self adhesive labels, packaging and other finished products.

The new owners want to broaden the mill's offer, which is to consist of fine papers, label papers, technical papers, and a fourth product group. This fourth product group will soon be acquired from a competitor, the new owners inform.

In the next few years they also want to invest "substantial sums" in production equipment, among other things in the construction of a power plant to secure the mill's steam and power supply.
