Manufacturers calling for mark-ups on prices for softwood pulp as of February
10 February 2016
In view of the healthy demand in Europe and the low stocks, some NBSK pulp manufacturers announced price increases from 1 February.
However, industry observers do not believe that this price will be able to be achieved in full before the end of this month. The mark-ups are often considered as a tactic by softwood pulp manufacturers to avoid further reductions and to at least stabilise prices. Other market players, however, refer to the slightly greater strength of the euro and consider a small upward step in prices to be by all means realistic.
