Manufacturers announce price hike for kraftliner as from March

After price increase announcements for recycled containerboard, paper mills are now also set to raise prices for kraftliner from 1 March.

Several manufacturers have announced price hikes for kraftliner which are to take effect from 1 March.

SCA informed its customers about a price increase for all kraftliner grades. The company said that prices for brown and white-top kraftliner would be raised by €60/t from 1 March. "We see a continued increase in the market demand for kraftliner", said Mikael Frölander, Vice President Sales and Marketing Containerboard.

An increase of €60/t was also announced by Smurfit Kappa. The company said that brown and white-top kraftliner grades across Europe would be affected by the hike. The Mediterranean region was excluded.

Mondi informed its customers about a hike to the tune of €50/t for brown kraftliner. It is to be implemented from 1 March, as well.
