31 March 2018

The construction of another new paper machine for corrugated case material at its Söke mill is still being monitored by Turkish Kipas Holding. The boiler plant ordered for the currently build new PM at the mill is large enough to provide steam for a second PM, supplier Valmet said. Kipas has commissioned a multifuel power boiler for the generation of steam and electricity, in which paper and water treatment sludge can be incinerated in addition to coal and plastic rejects. Its capacity is designed for an output of 260 steam per hour and it is scheduled to go into operation in 2020.

The presently build new PM for recycled and primary fibre corrugated case materials is also scheduled to go into operation at the beginning of 2020. It will have a capacity of around 700,000 tpy and should also be able to produce board up to 400 g/m2. When the machine was ordered, Kipas had signed a letter of intent to build a second new PM at the mill.
