Kaicell Fibers takes another hurdle towards new 600,000 tpy pulp and biorefinery site in Paltamo.
 
According to Kaicell, the local planning and development authority has completed the Environmental Impact Assessment (EIA) for the mill and has declared the project feasible. Kaicell announced that it would soon submit an environmental permit application, which would take into account the results from the EIA.

Kaicell plans to build a pulp and bioproducts plant at the Paltamo site. According to earlier reports, production is expected to start in 2020. The plant will have a capacity of 500,000-600,000 tpy of bleached hard and softwood pulp and 100,000-400,000 tpy of fibers for textile production.
