JAF Group acquires Swedish Skanditrä AB

10 November 2015

As of the end of this year, the international JAF Group with its headquarters in Stockerau, Austria will take over the Swedish company Skanditrä, based in Kalmar. Curiously, the acquisition is subject to the approval of the Romanian competition authority. As a spokeswoman of the JAF Group explained, the reason is that a customer of Skanditrä in Romania exceeds the turnover limit of EUR 4 million.

Founded in 1948, the JAF Group is one of Central Europe’s leading wholesaler of timber and timber products with 53 branches in 16 countries, and remains a privately owned company to this day.

Skanditrä was founded in 1941 and has a warehouse in Sopron / Hungary. The company is a global operator buying and selling hardwood products, logs, sawn timber products and semi-finished products all over the world. Skanditrä's main customers are companies in the flooring, joinery and furniture industry from Europe and Asia.

With the acquisition of Skanditrä the JAF Group will open up a new business and complement the existing range.
