European shipments of graphic papers down 7.2 per cent

Euro-Graph, the European Association of Graphic Paper Producers, published its October 2016 statistics of the European Graphic Papers Industry, which showed total shipments of graphic papers in October were 2,832,000 tonnes, down 7.2% or 220,000 tonnes, versus October 2015.
Graphic Paper grades include: Newsprint, SC-Magazine, Coated Mechanical Reels, Uncoated Mechanical Reels, Coated Woodfree and Uncoated Woodfree.
In October, total European shipments of Newsprint were 655,000 tonnes compared to 708,000 tonnes in October of 2015, a decrease of 7.6%.
Total shipments of SC-Magazine paper in October were 348,000 tonnes compared to 341,000 tonnes in October of 2015, an increase of 2.2%.
Total Shipments of Coated Mechanical Reels in October were 527,000 tonnes, down 12.9%, versus a October 2015 figure of 605,000 tonnes.
Shipments of Uncoated Mechanical papers in October were 202,000 tonnes, down 2.7%, compared to 208,000 tonnes in October of 2015.
Total shipments of Coated Woodfree papers in October were 530,000 tonnes, a decrease of 8.7%, compared to 581,000 tonnes in October 2015.
Total shipment of Uncoated Woodfree papers in October were 570,000 tonnes, a decrease of 6.5%, compared to 609,000 tonnes in October 2015.
