3 August 2018

LWC paper machine PM 9 could become Italy's biggest recycled containerboard machine with an installed capacity of 600,000 tpy.

Italy's Burgo group is taking the next step towards company's diversification. Burgo announced the rebuild of the LWC paper machine PM 9 at the Verzuolo mill to recycled containerboard production. According to Burgo, the rebuilt PM 9 will have an annual production capacity of 600,000 tpy of recycled corrugating medium and testliner. Production start-up is scheduled for the end of the next year.

The official announcement of the Verzuolo project comes only a few months after Burgo made its debut on the recycled containerboard market in Italy with the start of the rebuilt PM 2 at the former fine paper mill in Avezzano. Burgo did not provide any information on the total value of the investment in Verzuolo nor how the project is going to be financed.
