Heinzel’s Zellstoff Pöls bleached softwood kraft pulp mill in Austria has completed repair work on the facility’s recovery boiler #2 after an explosion at the unit in March 2014. The unit was brought back online on December 22. The entire production system has been able to resume operation, with full production slated to be achieved later this month.

The mill has been operating at just under half of its previous capacity of 400,000 tonnes/yr of bleached softwood kraft (BSK) pulp since the accident 17 months ago, via its standby recovery boiler #1.
