Western lumber production in February dips 1.8% from January

February lumber production in the western US totaled 1.14 billion board feet (BBF), down from 1.16 BBF in January but up from 1.08 BBF in February 2014. Total western production through the first two months of this year is 2.29 BBF, up a modest 0.3% from the same period a year ago.

Production in the Coast region so far this year compared to last year is up 4.6%. The Inland region is down 4.9% while California Redwood production is off 20.7%.
